seriously i used to work somewhere that sold digiboxes and the quality of these piles of tat is unreal, and to get anything else as a replacement i will have to pay extra
its the wharfedale one

How much did you pay for it? Maybe it is worth paying extra, just so that you know it will work a bit longer?! xGone ... or have I?0

first was 25, second was 23, this latest one lasted 3 weeks, my point was that surely if somewhere reputable is selling electrical products and has sold the same one for about a year (same model) then the returns rate shouldn't be like this and if it is it should be canned after first season not still being unreliable on the third seasonthings arent the way they were before, you wouldnt even recognise me anymore- not that you knew me back thenMercilessKiller wrote: »BH is my best mate too, its ok

I got mine from Asda for £19.97, brilliant picture and no problems. had mine for six months nowTrinidad - I have a number of needs. Don't shoot me down if i get something wrong!!0

I've got the Durabrand PVR from ASDA, and I'm very pleased with it."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

Where you've got the digibox situated can be important ie make sure all vents are clear....not sitting on the carpet for example.
Also Argos can 'look up' reasons for return for any product. I recently took back a hard drive recorder & freeview box and they were able to tell me that it was the first time this problem had arisen & that they had very few returns of the product. Replacement has worked brilliantly.0 -
I have the £24 ONN digibox from Asda and have had no trouble with it. Over on the Digital Spy forum quite a few people are saying that the "Worth It" box from Woolworths at £20 is an excellent product with lots of good features. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

i'm was a digital spy regular until a certain other site came up *mutters under breath about facebook*
last time i was on the box i bought had a review rating of 4 stars (unheard of over there)
its on a shelf btw
my mate used to work for argos and the quality of staff varies greatly, how some of them manage to get by from day to day without hurting themselves i'll never know.
before people jump on me and flame me, i have said that to two of my mates who worked there and they agreed and we all used to work in retail together and one of my other mates works at argos now and he would probably agree lolthings arent the way they were before, you wouldnt even recognise me anymore- not that you knew me back thenMercilessKiller wrote: »BH is my best mate too, its ok

Wharfedale products are not normally a cheap pile of tat (they make reasonable quality speakers and amps) but I guess that digital receivers have to be as cheap as possible as people won't pay more than the basic price. However, there was good advice here about heat as these receivers can get very hot and short out. I went through 3 in 2 months before finding that this was the problem. I had two stacked on top of each other, one for the television and one for the recorder and they were overheating. Is yours on top of another appliance which generates heat?
