Can i please remind everyone we are not allowed to link to our own blogs?

The woman who writes it is aiming to declutter and simplify her life over the course of a year. It's a little bit 'christian' at times but I am inspired by some of her ideas and looking forward to seeing what other suggestions she comes up with. I thought it might appeal to those who lurk on the hoarding/decluttering threads (like me!). I don't think I could be as ruthless as her but it's definitely making me rethink my ideas about why I think I need so much stuff. :o

    This looks brilliant thanks!

Now to have a read of this thread!

I took a look at some of the blogs recommended in this thread and was struck by how authentic they feel, even when I don't necessarily agree with the author.

Stark contrast to how I felt when I read the latest instalment of what felt like a poverty tourism series - look how thrifty and stoic we are, with our voluntarily reduced income, surviving on nothing but our own smallholding - in the Guardian. Mind, I was more annoyed when I read the first instalment of the series: We downsized from £60,000 to £16,000.

Is it cynical to think the Guardian series is not so much voluntary simplicity as a protracted PR campaign for the book she mentions on a regular basis?

  • Just love the year of less blog. Fits in very well with my ethos of "less is more".

I've been reading the blog of a American guy called Daniel Suelo who has lived without money for 10 years in the US. Its not packed full of money-saving tips but very interesting nonetheless!

Hi, not sure if this is what you're looking for, but it's a blog about simple living, stockpiling, being frugal, etc. There's a lot of information on there about OS living:
