Did they pay for the taxi? Presumably they did if you were "taxied home", and you want a refund as well. Sorry if I've misunderstood.

I paid for a train, if I wanted to go by car I'd have driven.

Train Companies in the UK get off pretty lightly when not providing a service you've paid for. A lot do not refund a penny if you are less than 30 mins late, only give a full refund if you are delayed by 60 mins and then make it a right ball ache for you to claim.

If you paid £60 for a meal and you were made to stand next to a smelly toilet to eat it when it turned up cold and inedible would you expect to pay full price or a % of it depending on when it turned up?

Comfort and a seat on a train is often a privilege, you won't get refunded for not getting one.
Poor trains are the norm, services are adequate and prices are extortionate. They even charge £10 for the privilege of paying you back!!!

    Should they refund the lot?
I bought a split ticket, the journey was delayed meaning I missed the final connection and was Taxied home. the train company has only offered to refund the cost of one portion. I thought they were supposed to refund the lot.
If your journey is delayed by an hour or more, then Delay Repay compensation (where applicable) means you are entitled to 100% compensation, based on the cost of your journey.

The National Rail Conditions of Travel entitle you to use a combination of two or more tickets for one journey.

Therefore, you are absolutely right. I am glad to see from your most recent post that the company did relent, and did the right thing in the end.:T
