Opening new current account just to switch?

Hi,
A quick question I'm sure someone with experience can help answer before I action this.
I want to retain my main current account but open a second to then switch to another bank so I can gain their switch bonus and then access their regular saver product.
Is it as simple as opening a standard current account (with my current bank or a new one) and then immediately triggering the switch process to the new provider?
Or do they block these things?
Thanks
Rick

Yep, that's the way to do it.0

I was reading about NatWest and it states that you have to despot 1500 pounds in your account monthly.
I believe you also make 2% on all the debits leaving your account monthly.
I think you should read the small print and then decide.0
