Premier mortgage centre

Options
I hope that this is the correct place to post and I apologise if not!
Has anyone dealt with trying to reclaim ppi from Premier Mortgage centre? I wrote a letter following martins template and had it returned saying they are no longer there. I can’t find any information so assume they are no longer trading.
I contacted the FSCS as per Martins advice and when I typed in the name it came up with Brian Small! When I applied it instantly told me that they were no longer accepting applications for the specified firm?
Is this the end of the line? I’m certain I was mis sold by them when I started my mortgage! The mortgage started in 2006 and ended in Sep 2014!
Any help would be appreciated as I’m unsure what to do next.

I'd suggest using the 'contact us' to ask why they aren't accepting any claims

The FSCS only uphold around 5% of Mortgage broker complaints. What reasons are there for thinking you were missold?

  • I can remember the man saying at the time that we had to have PPi in order to have the mortgage! X

You'll almost certainly need a stronger complaint reason than that.

You may well have done. A common business model for mortgage brokers is to give free mortgage advice if you buy an insurance product. That is allowed as long as the insurance is suitable.

Even if they told porkies, your allegation is unprovable. It is very rare for a complaint to succeed on the "told I had to have it" reason.

If the OP is referring to Premier Mortgage Centre (UK) Ltd, based in Cornwall, they still exist.

The FCA state that they ceased conducting all regulated activities on 27/08/2010,

CH show them as a dormant company with net assets of £300k.

The FSCS wont take on a case if the business is still open with assets. The fact it deregulated doesn't matter. Liability remains for the life of the company during the period it was trading.

The OP "assumed" they were no longer trading, but obviously hasn't checked fully enough if that link is indeed the lender who sold him the mortgage PPI.

Regardless, his "complaint" is very weak...
