CPM ticket passed to debt collectors

Options
Hello. I need some advice on what to do (or not to do). Long story short - I've received a parking ticket from CPM. They do have a strong case, as I have forgotten to display a parking permit at a company car park (operated by CPM) after getting a new job. They do have a photo of my car with no permit displayed, so clear evidence of my fault.

Appealed at CPM Appeals website however it was past the deadline (my bad), so they've rejected it, saying it's with debt collectors now.

Appealed at the IAS and got rejected again. When I type in my reference at CPM website now it says it's not a valid ref as it's been passed to debt collectors and it tells me to contact CPM for more details, but I cannot get through to anyone without providing a valid ref number - which doesn't exist anymore in my case.

What are my options here? Do I just wait for debt collectors to contact me?

Thanks!

They do have a strong case,

But has your appalling negligence so damaged them that it will take £100 to repair? I think not.

They are obviously trying to scam you so complain to your MP.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, and persistent offenders denied access. Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers.

Until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

The point is that you have a permit and just because it was not displayed does not warrant a £100 charge. CPM are scamming you,
Assume you have proved to CPM that you do have a permit ?

The IAS is just a Gladstones solicitors scam and a pathetic excuse for an appeals service ...... IT'S A SCAM

Who cares if debt collectors make contact, they are useless timewasters with no powers

They do have a strong case,
No they don't. This is a scam, but they will sue you and you will have to defend it. This is what we do every day and most UKCPM cases are about not displaying a permit and despite people thinking they are 'bang to rights' that is not true.

We help people beat them 99% of the time, hundreds of times over the past two years with ordinary people like you realising this is NOT your fault.
so clear evidence of my fault.
No, it's not your fault, this was a new job.

The only way to cancel it before court crap happens:

Get your employers to exercise their right to cancel it quickly before UKCPM send it to Gladstones to sue. There is NO APPEAL worth trying whatever the circumstances as it;s a kangaroo court, so don't let your employers say you should appeal, it is hopeless.

They need to add your car to a whitelist and tell UKCPM to cancel this one, as the contract allows them (or if the contract is with the main site landowner, not your employers, then the site management can cancel it when your employers ask them nicely).

Be very aware you have a resident scam company in the car park.

Keep blutack in your glovebox to attach the permit to the Dash every day so that a 'ticketer' rogue can't rock cars to dislodge permits...as clampers used to do.

UKPCM are ex-clampers and not a firm you want marauding around a company car park - bad choice by whoever signed the contract.

Try REALLY HARD to get a manager to cancel it as a one off. REALLY HARD.

Exhaust that possibility. DO NOT PAY.

Read the NEWBIES thread, and if it's not cancelled by their principal, then prepare to defend & win a case (no risk, no CCJ, no huge costs at stake). All good life experience and for your colleagues to learn from, given they have probably all been scammed, as UKCPM are ticket-happy and provide no service whatsoever.

Look, this report is about their calibre:

You think it's your fault, still?! Hope you are 100% getting that this is a scam.

  • Thanks for a quick advice and replies everyone!

I did prove to them that I have a permit, I presented them with me job contract, which shown a commencement date prior to the parking (in other words I've had a full right to park there, but I forgot to display the permit).

The "£100 sounds really harsh for just forgetting to display the permit, where I was fully entitled to actually park there" was my main line of appeal.

So the likely course of action is that they will sue me now and I will need to defend it in court? I really don't want to be dragged around courts.

But that IS NOT how to defend it. Luckily, we know what is.

Yes, which is why you need to REALLY TRY HARD TO GET IT CANCELLED and that is not achieved by appealing, not achieved by you replying to the scumbags.

They will listen to the hand that feeds.

None of our newbies do, but they manage it and 99% win and love it!

Personally, I would relish such a case going to court as CPM has failed (as usual) to mitigate with a reasonable outcome.
As said CPM are low life scammers who belong to a low life scam set up by Gladstones solicitors.

Gladstones could well enter this and will produce another idiotic claim that they are famous for.

A typical Gladstones interference would be ignorance of the circumstances, sending a "clown" to court with no real claim.
Then when they realise they are not scaring you, they discontinue.

Couple this with the fact that courts are fed up with fake claims from this very dodgy legal, you chances of winning is very high.
When you win, you can claim costs up to £95, maybe more if a judge thinks the claim is unreasonable .... which of course it is

And for the landowner, this is proof that they have employed a bunch of scammers
