I'm soooo gutted! I just rang Marshall Ward to see why my order didn't have an estimated delivery date in my order tracking. She told me that the order had been rejected. I can only presume the jacket became out of stock at the same time as placing it:mad:
If any one has a size 12 they want to sell please let me know - i am expecting in April and in desperate need of a new jacket!! Thank you0 -
Did any one get this item while using a discount code ...?0

 Anyone who was expecting a delivery by the 1 jan 2008, I would have a look at your account at Marshall Ward. If you look on your account statement, you will probably see that your order has been cancelled.. gee thanks for the email to let me know!! My statement shows that the item is no longer available and that they have issued a refund, I cant believe they had the nerve to take the money before they made sure that they can deliver!
Oh well, you win some, you lose some

Another example that customer service is rapidly becoming a dying art I'm afraidOne hundred years from now it won't matter what kind of car I drove, what kind of house I lived in, how much money I had in the bank, nor what my clothes looked like but the world may be a little better because, I was important in the life of a child.0

I bought one of these coats also and thought it was too young for me.
I put it on Ebay and sold it for £30 plus postage (£5.50)

Buyer has now asked for a refund saying I sold her a jacket with a faulty zip.
She has removed the tags and although I tried to fight it through paypal, they have awarded her a refund.
The nerve of some people. Perhaps she saw this thread and decided to buy for £10 and say mine was faulty.
I am now going to have a brand new jacket without tags and broken zip.
Paypal never take the word of the seller. Buyer can say whatever they like and get a refund and there is nothing much the seller can do about it.0 -
and there is nothing much the seller can do about it
You can choose not to use paypal.
Of course you risk loosing genuine buyers like me who really hate dealing with cheques and like the protection of paypal (which I would only use in a genuine case).
Without paypal I would either bid less or not at all because the risks for me have increased.
So it's definitely a trade-off and items without paypal do seem to go for less, but you are not forced to use it if you dont' want to.
Some sellers do operate without it, but you have to accept that your proposition has becom more risky for the buyer and therefore being objective about it your items are worth less than other sellers who do offer a quick payment mechanism and protection.
Another alternative is to "self-insure".
By that I mean increase your items by a small amount (either postage or bid price) and put that small amount aside to cover bad buyers.
When I buy from ebay I factor in the possibility that I might get ripped-off into the price (it's not the same as buying from a shop).
Surely as a seller you should also be factoring in the various risks?
Same goes for lost/damaged in the post. These are all risks for buyers and sellers.
The golden rule is FACTOR IT IN to the price.0 -
Having have my Ecko coat for over a week now, i've worn it several tiems adn have noticed that the zip gets stuck when trying to pull it up. Is anyone else having the same problem?0

FACTOR IT IN to the price.
Yes I agree but that doesn't do any good if buyers get a refund fraudulently.
Ebay is decidely now a buyers market. I've been selling for a few years and have seen other sellers being ripped off by Paypal.

'How to get a zipper unstuck - Rub a bar of soap along the teeth. Not too much. Work slowly trying to pull the zipper up. You can also rub a damp cloth along the teeth to rub the soap in. This works every time, it's amazing.'
Other alternatives to soap were lip balm, a white candle or beeswax.0
