Curious copy/paste problem

On my win 10 laptop, I often use copy/paste to search the web. I find a product name on one web page, copy it, then open a new tab and paste the name into the address bar.

This mostly works OK but I've recently found that sometimes what becomes pasted is not the copy just done but the one before that.

If I redo the copy/paste action, it works OK. All very odd.

Has anyone else experienced this?

In Firefox and Google Chrome you can right-click and search Google (or any other search engine) without a need to open a new tab.

Just select the text, right-click and "search Google for <selected text>". A new tab will open for you and you don't need to copy and paste anything.

As above, highlight then right click gives the option to search and opens new tab with the results. Much easier. You can also right click on clickable links for the option to open them in a new tab.

I have copied and pasted and found the previous copy being pasted. No idea why.

Thanks guys. I didn't realise you could do that. I'll get into the habit of doing that in future. Very handy.

As you can in both versions of Edge (the original and the new Chromium-based version).

Edge defaults to Bing (pre Chromium) but its easy enough to change.

Bit late, but anything to do with this?
    Clipboard can save multiple copy's.

Maybe its just me but I don't "get" clipboard managers. I've managed to go 25 years in Windows without needing one...

I use a clipboard manager (AtoZ). Very handy, especially when you copy links and data.

I also use a website form copier (form history control (II)) for sites like MSE as sometime you press submit and it wont take the post, but I often try to copy the info before submitting
