Hey,
my 11 year old sister has a abbey current account that my mum opened for her a couple of weeks ago.
I thought you'd get a paying-in book?
Don't abbey issue paying-in books?
Cheers,
Andy.

I used to work for Abbey. They don't automatically issue paying in books, but you could ask for one (if you can find someone who knows how to order one!). This only applies if it's an account with a sort code of 09-01-26 or 27.
If it's a passbook account, with letters as well as digits in the account number, then you can't have a paying in book.
In any case, you don't need one. Just quote the account number at the branch when you wish to make a deposit. Or if she has a card, you can pay in through many of their ATMs.Amazon sellers club - member number 63.

Thanks Andy (From Andy!).
It's just that it's better to have a note of whats going in and out, like writing £30 paid in in the book, when a week later it doesn't show in the account...Hi, I've already asked and been granted for permission via PM for a Help for Heroes link. Pfft.

They should always give you a signed/stamped receipt for money paid in. Anything you write in a paying in book only acts as a receipt if the cashier stamps it anyway.Amazon sellers club - member number 63.
