Loads of great ideas, thank everyone.

Today I finally had the time and the weather to get started. I'm now the proud possessor of a rhubarb plant (in pride of place by the front door!! It was the only space big enough for it to spread, and also, as it's by the front door and next to the path, handy for picking whatever the weather. I bought 10 little strawberry plants, and put them straight into the borders. I may regret it, as they may get attacked by slugs - but it isn't a very sluggy garden and I've not lost any plants to slugs in the past, so fingers crossed I get away with it!!

I have a couple of under-used hanging baskets, so the next step is to see if I can make use of them. I'll definitely look into trailing tomatoes!! I'm also going to think about which herbs I actually use, and plant them in pots by the kitchen door. I've tried before, but not very successfully (I think the top of my wall where the pots are is a bit windy), so might have to re-think the location. The patio is a bit of a sun-trap, so maybe there instead.

    One step at a time!!
