I'm having a problem with them too. First of all we had the customer relations disaster last winter when they decided that rather than having a set amount DD all year as most customers originally agreed - to even out payments over the year - they'd double it in winter because people used more electricity then. When customers started to leave in droves they backed down and went back to the original set amount. Then 8 days ago I had the same email as the OP doubling my direct debit because my account is currently £58 in arrears (not surprising after the winter, but now in summer I'm using less electricity so it will even out).
So I also decided to switch, only to receive a snotty and arrogant email from Foxglove saying they had blocked my switch because my account was more than 28 days in arrears!!! I've only known about the shortfall for 8 days and since it was such a small amount I figured it would be sorted out on the final bill. I wouldn't stay with them if they were the last supplier on the planet.0 -
I am moving away from these people at the earlies opportunity, they are absolute thieves.
I live in a one bedroom flat and my current DD is now running at £170.82 per month. I know this cannot be right as I have no arrears with them.0 -
I was with Eco7, another of their brands, and they were dreadful. Massive hikes in DDs, and it took months to get a refund of my credit after I left them.0
