Hi All,
We are in process of buying house so was thinking which departments we need to inform for address change?
Here is the list
1) Employers
2) School
3) Banks
4 ) DVLA
5) Car Insurance
6) HMRC ( How to inform them? have they got any form or on phone?)
7) Child Tax Credit ( How to inform them? have they got any form or on phone?)
8) Pasport Office ( How to inform them? have they got any form or on phone?)
9) NHS ( How to inform them? have they got any form or on phone?)
10) Gas, Water, Electricity, broadband
11) Council Tax
12) GP Surgery
13) Optometrist
14) Dentist
15) Clubs
16) Mobile phones
17)
18)
19)
At what stage we should apply for Royal Mail post redirection when we should inform them of the address change (after exchange)
Thanks in advance.

For DVLA, remember you need to change the addresses on your driving licences and V5Cs.
HMRC - If you're purely PAYE, then your employer payroll dept will do all that's needed. If you do self-assessment, then make sure your current address is on the next.
Passport office - nothing needs doing until your passports need renewing.
NHS - that's 12 and 14, unless you're dealing with hospital etc referrals.
Optician - no need to notify anything or anybody until you next book an eyetest, which you can do with any optician.
Royal Mail redirection is fairly quick - they say 5 working days notice.0 -
10) Gas, Water, Electricity, broadband
With Gas, Water, Electricity - it's not really a case of informing a change of address.
You tell your current suppliers that you are moving, and provide them with a final meter reading on the day you leave.
Then they will send you a final bill.
Then find out who supplies your new property, and tell those suppliers that you are moving in, and provide them with an initial meter reading on the day you move in.
If you want to change suppliers (e.g. to get a cheaper deal), you can start that process after you've moved in.0 -

We are on PAYG meters with Southern electric (Gas + Electricity) in the rented property.0 -
Any loyalty schemes like Clubcard, Nectar etc.
Any friends / relatives you want to stay in touch with
Get th main ones done and use Royal Mail redirect for 3-6 months, then you can weed out the noise stuff and see whether it's anything you do want to update your address with, or simply RTS with 'gone away' written on the item (or choose to update your account prefecnes to online communication only) Great time for a mailing list clear out.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

I guess you mean prepayment meters.
So take final meter readings when you leave, and tell Southern Electric.
You should get a refund for any unused credit.
(Then contact whoever supplies the new property, as described above. If the new property has credit meters, the way you pay will be different.)0
