Car not on dvla database

I have owned my car for 4 years. Went to tax it online using the V5 and it said that the personalised number did not exist in records. It has been on my car for 3 1/2 years and the V5 has been in my possession for that time. I was paying by dd, but I realised that has stopped and therefore my reason for going online to pay.

I tried the V5 that I still have from the original reg number. Of course they are closed for the weekend. Insured and MOT’d by main dealership, but when I check MOT status dvla are saying again it does not exist. Anyone else had this issue?

Hi, I was paying by dd and then realised that payment had stopped a few months ago according to banking app. Wanted to resolve it by paying online and then ringing them up Tuesday morning to pay the missing months as I could not understand why. The car seems to have disappeared! Could it have something to do with cloning and crime? It’s almost like I have crapped it?

I wonder if DVLA have marked it as written off or exported?

It'd still come up on the vehicle checker.

OP - you are using https://vehicleenquiry.service.gov.uk/ right? Not a third party site?

Most likely reason for a plate not to come up is that the plate's been flagged as having been moved to another vehicle or retention. (There's nothing different about "private" plates - apart from how they got onto the car in the first place, by transfer rather than simple allocation)

I presume the V5C is at your current address, and there's no easy way post could be intercepted?
