Thank you for the welcome :)

Sorry I didn’t make the other options clear first, this however was only because I was really just asking for help on what should be included in a written notice. I only gave the other details to give people a little context :)

I still welcome the people who advise me that there may be little point to even applying as any extra info is still welcome and appreciated. However whether my post touched a nerve or not some peoples judgement and attitude is unnecessary and simply unkind whatever the situation. There is a way to interact with people, especially those simply requesting help and without all information or knowing an individuals circumstance I think that kind of behaviour is never justifiable.

Thank you again for you response. I appreciate the time taken to welcome me.

Welcome sophtori, TIGs is right that your welcome to MSE hasn't been all it could be, so let me welcome you to MSE and hope you stick around.

Unfortunately your first post touched a nerve with some people who thought your expectations were unreasonable, it wasn't until a later post you explained it wasn't your only option and you were looking at other accommodation.

Good luck in sorting accommodation and good luck with the awaited baby.

Thanks Silvercar for your kind words.

People should not have to give their whole life story so they aren't judged. My daughter has worked from well before leaving school, she has never expected anything from anyone, including me her mum. In fact over the last year while i have been having treatment for breast cancer she has gone above and beyond. She would give anyone the clothes of her back if she thought it would help them.

I don't think asking for what to include in a letter is unreasonable, what i do think is unreasonable is people automatically thinking the worst of someone or believing that they are out for anything they can get their hands on. They decided what her expectations were. Sometimes people are just looking for advice.

Be kind to each other because one day you or someone you love might find themselves in the same or a similar situation.

10 years ago my sister in law, husband and baby moved in with my in laws both elderly one with dementia, they put there names down for a house, a year later offered a tiny one bed flat on a rough estate, because they turned this down they never got offered anything else. Eventually they got desperate and went into private rental. They tried health grounds, over crowding, GP and Health visitor letters to no avail. They still live in private rental but I remember it being very stressful for them. However recently I have heard of people being housed quicker depends on where you live so just submit an application and hope for the best. You may get offered a B&B or a tiny flat in a bad area but once in the system you stand a better chance of maybe eventually getting something else. Get as much information to support your application as possible and keep trying. Good luck.

Just to add if the son who has additional needs has trouble coping with noise etc has a case worker then maybe a letter from them may help.
