How to estimate heating/water/gas bills?

I’m looking at houses but I wondered if there is a way to estimate utility costs of heating/water/gas bills? Obviously depends on usage but ballpark figures.

Think the comparison sites give you rough figures for size of property etc.0

The best way is to just ask for the units used for the last year.
But if you look for the Energy Performance Certificate on the goverment site for that house it gives an estimate in the report.

It's absolutely impossible to guesstimate.
Look at the past bills? Maybe the previous occupant loved half-hour scalding showers four times a day, and kept the heating tropical with the windows open. Maybe they never washed and wore three jumpers all winter.
Look at other similar-size properties? Maybe this one's insulation is lousy. Maybe this one's insulation is superb.0 -
Have a chat with friends and colleagues on their utility bills. Then take the worst case scenario when estimating bills.Paid off the last of my unsecured debts in 2016. Then saved up and bought a property. Current aim is to pay off my mortgage as early as possible. Currently over paying every month. Mortgage due to be paid off in 2036 hoping to get it paid off much earlier. Set up my own bespoke spreadsheet to manage my money.0
