Scottish Power..
Came to end of contract with SP, with whom I have been reasonably happy. Signed up for their suggested best fixed rate deal.
Went to Money saving comparison tool. Found much better rate by - Scottish Power. Signed up for new fixed rate contract (at about £40 per month less). Get cash back of £25.

It is a bit like insurance and their obsessive pursuit of new customers. The more valuable customer is the one who isn't checking comparison sites and just auto renews - and they are the ones that get hosed.0

It's a new OFGEM policy to try and encourage people to engage with the energy market, the way SP are doing it is to put their better deals on comparison sites, existing customers can still change to them. The idea behind it is so people can see the other deals out their!0

SP have done this three times for our tariffs over the last couple of years. keep checking every other month for deals!0
