A second credit card?

Hi all

Usually I give some advice but I need advice.

I currently have one credit card which is the clarity credit card from Halifax. I have a limit of £2,500 and soon to go up to £3000 despite never reaching near that limit. I usually spend about £400 a month on it and pay it off in full. I haven’t miss a payment or had a late fee added. The apr is 19%

I was thinking of getting second credit card for 0% deal. Just for those spends that I need a little extra time to pay for or can’t afford it in my current way. It will be paid off before the promotion ends.

I earn £17,652, I have no loans, I am saving for a deposit to buy a house next year. I have next account which I pay off in full and have £3,500 limit. I have a virgin mobile sim only deal £18 per month.

Would you say it’s a stupid idea to get a second one when I’m managing as it is or not.

Thank you

Starting balance £66,565.45

I'd get more than a second. Your limit is very low and you don't have any back ups.

Apply for a card now and then another in a few months. Use them regularly and clear in full unless on a 0% deal.

I was looking at the Barclay card platinum as Mbna and another one was 100% but only 4/5 months max on 0% spending. I know that I’m not Garybteed to get the card anyways.

The Barclay card platinum has up to 28 months 0% and at 70% chance. The others had 0. Chance.

I know I’m not garunteed to get the length the percentage also.

    Thank you

I’ve tried the eligibility checker on the Barclaycard site and it is saying I wouldn’t get one as I am new to credit cards. But it doesn’t ask if you have had one just if you have had a Barclay card one.

Do you think I should put a full application in anyways?

It's worth one application if the others are saying no.

Barclaycard have a range of downsell cards so you may be able to get one of those.

Got a limit of £3500 but can’t find how long my 0% deal is. Any help please.

It will show on your agreement - either the electronic copy you've been given, or when the card comes through.
