Laptop Internet Graphics Display ?

Can anyone help with the following problem.

Have noticed over the past couple of days when looking at websites/pictures etc they are blurred/fuzzy or have a shadow around them. Don't think I've done anything to my system but ? Text is ok, it's just where there are pictures/coloured boxes eg the very top of this page - Martin's pic is blurred, the boxes titling areas of the site have shadows in them which makes them look like 2-3 shades of colour per box.

Running Vista Home Premium 32 bit.

sounds to me like the graphics card driver isnt installed or has corrupted

EDIT: have you tried right clicking on the desktop and selecting properties > settings tab and selecting 'highest (32bit)' from the drop down menu under colour quality
