Two companies running PPI searches on me

I’ll keep this brief as I feel there is not much I can do and my own stupidity. In 2018 I had sorted myself out of A terrible hole with pay loans. I saw an advertising online about reclaim money and thought I would give it a go. It asked me about other credit I may of got so I filled this in to. Not hearing anything I totally forgot about it ..

I was then this year recommend by a friend to try out this compact for ppi claims that she had got money back from. I thought I would give it a go on her recommendation and they was great at getting back to me about each claim whether it had been successful or not. Within a few months I received a cheque with ppi back from capital one! Result! It wasn’t a life changing amount but money is money! I popped the cheque in and was just going ahead to pay them their cut when I received an email from them saying I had success with capital one please call now for more info .... then it dawned on me! It wasn’t them that sent me the cheque and the letter but the other company in 2018 they had such similar names I didn’t click!!

I haven’t got back to the company that has just emailed me but I’m guessing down to my own stupidity I’ll have to pay fees for both?
Was just double checking if anyone else has been in the same situation and didn’t end up paying both companies ? Luckily it wasn’t thousands but that little extra money would of been handy and I’ve guessed I’ve lost it and might have to put it down to a learning curve?

You asked them both to buy you a stamp, so unfortunately you'll need to pay for them.

You might be a refund of some of the tax deducted from the interest element of the PPI payout - this might help pay the claims companies.
