Acer Support

Hello,

I placed an order for a monitor direct from Acer, when I looked at the order I realized it was the wrong model, so I canceled the order on the 28th March and same day ordered the correct one. The sales person I spoke to stated I would get my refund for the canceled order within 5 days.
Following the 5 days+ still no sign of a refund, so I contacted Acer again and they stated that the other person was wrong and it takes 30 days to process a refund! so I waited the 30 days and still nothing. I spoke to them again this morning and the customer services rep said it hadnt been processed because the sales department hadnt done so and they had been ignoring the requests from the customer service team to process the refund.... OMG!
He even advised me that I should take legal action against them, as there was nothing they could do. I then got an email saying they closed the ticket.

I am dumbfounded as to what to do or where to go next. the value is nearly £600 so I assume its too small for any claims court etc. Any Advice would be welcome :)

There is no lower limit, the lowest fee band is "up to £300". Don't forget to add in interest over the delay. Online claim fee for £500 - £1000 is £60 - probably cheaper than taking a day off to sit on hold and getting the run around.

Or....start a chargeback with your bank. Costs nothing and you should find the amount credited straight away - although your bank will give you a warning that it may be redebited if the retailer disputes it.

If you paid by credit card then s75 claim may give you more rights, but it would take a while. While a chargeback can be done on debit or credit cards and as above, funds are usually immediately credited.

If you did pay by credit card then perhaps double check with your bank - if it will be credited immediately then do a chargeback. If not then may as well do a s75 claim.

This is completely inappropriate advice when a simple zero cost option is available as described by unholyangel.
