Yellow Label Reduced Items

I live opposite a costcutters supermarket and about 9.30 am they reduce all bakery products dated for that day to 75% off,so I call in and stock up.With 3 packed lunches a day to make it saves me a small fortune over the week.
A loaf of hovis 50/50 costs about 20p,4 pack of scones 30p,pancakes 35p etc.Even with the reduced prices marked on the product they still make mistakes so I watch as each item goes through to check.
I find Aldi have a good system, they stick a big 50% off sticker on and hit a 50% off button as they scan it,I have never had a mistake in our local store.0 -
And the solution to all of this is to do what my mom taught me to do, - always check your receipt, no matter what shop you're in, mistakes do happen. It amazes me how rarely anyone bothers to check these days, as if they are too proud to??? Thats madness, thats how the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. As to the discrepancy only being a penny or two, its about the principle."It is not uncommon for slight acquaintances to get married, but a couple really have to know each other to get divorced." - Anonymous

I keep any YS items separate, and all together. I also try to see if I see them pressing any button, or whatever - and I check the receipt too and/or know precisely how much my bill will be and if it differs to query it before I pay.
It's never guaranteed.... all tills/prices can be in the system wrongly, even if it's a regular item, so YS is taking your life into your hands... and it's embarrassing if you're pointing out a 20p reduction, but "it's the point" isn't it
The smaller shops that I have noticed the problem in, are both attached to filling stations. You will get a lot of customers getting maybe £40 of petrol and a few other high end brand items quickly grabbed from the shelves. You can almost feel the impatience drilling into the back of your neck as you imagine a queue of angry people clutching their luxury brand car key fobs behind you as you dispute something which, as you say, can be as little as 20 or 50p. In fact disputing anything at all can sometimes cause angry stares from queuing customers.0
