Thanks! I will email it off :)

Yes, my friend was in the car with me and her parents came to the rescue, so 3 people who witnessed it, but would they actually believe that? Really wish I took photos at the time because I had a feeling I had gone over the stay limit.

POPLA do accept Witness Statements, yes, but clearly not at this stage.

What happened when you spoke to the McD's Manager to cancel it? Easiest route.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

It won't help you now, but for next time...

My car broke down a couple of weeks ago in a Tesco Extra car park.
I knew I wouldn't be able to move it for several hours, so spoke to the Customer Services desk.

Very helpful person typed registration number into this separate terminal and then told me "All done. You now have permission to stay in the car park for twenty-four hours. Come back if you need more time".

The moral of this story is, for anyone faced with a breakdown - take steps to avoid getting a ticket in the first place.

Hi Guys, Sorry for the week long reply!

Should I just send off the template as it is i.e not explain that I broke down? Or if I do explain that I broke down where/what do I put?

    Many thanks

I have read court reports and some CC judges are quite content to dismiss such claims.

Whether they might award unreasonable behaviour costs would depend on the judge, but IMO, taking a breakdown BOC to court is unreasonable.

Have you complained to your MP?
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.
