What effect will Bubonic plague have on London house prices?

It’s undeniable that antibiotic resistance is upon us - there’s no question we are moving to a post-antibiotic era.
The last Bubonic plague in London killed over a quarter of residents in a little over a year.
With that sudden drop in population there would definitely be a house price crash that the government and banks would be powerless to prevent.
I’m predicting 30% drops in the better areas, and up to 75% in the heavily populated areas due to increased presence of plague.
It’s only a matter of time. :T
You'll probably catch it and miss out on that cheap house.0 -
The black Death was 1665 and looking like was going to spread all over the uk,
The great fire of London was 1666.
Coincidence theory?
Conspiracy theory is the government did on purpose to control the spreadNothing has been fixed since 2008, it was just pushed into the future0 -
Conundrum then. Population goes down by half, but the government burns down half of London. Do prices then go up or down?
Maybe it’s not as guaranteed as I had thought.Legal team on standby0 -
Perhaps that is the reason why the government is raising probate fees - the income generated will pay off the national debt if we get a plague outbreak.0

The ideal situation would be for property prices to crash to nothing so that you avoid inheritance tax. As nobody will want to achieve that by actually selling their property (because they'll ultimately miss out on the bounce back and the rental income) is the valuers will be bribed to say that property is worthless. With everyone busy avoid dying then it will avoid any kind of scrutiny.
Tenants will therefore not have to move out (unless they catch the plague as that would be against the tenancy agreement).
You wouldn't be able to get a bailiff to turn up to evict in any case though.0 -

Black death was 1350ish. The 1665 was just a standard plague
It was the same plague. It swept across us and away again and after sweeping round Europe it came back.
There were fewer susceptible people left so I don't think it was as devastating by that point. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -
Measels appears to be the issue right now.0

There has been a death in Mongolia https://www.theguardian.com/world/2019/may/06/mongolian-couple-die-of-bubonic-plague-after-eating-marmot
What's worse is I haven't seen any warnings anywhere about eating raw Marmot liver. Usually if there is an issue with food safety it's plastered everywhere but I haven't seen a single, solitary warning about this.
I popped into Tesco earlier and it looks like they have taken all the Marmot off the shelves. At least I couldn't see any between the lamb and pork anyway.
Be careful out there folks. If you are having Marmot this week make sure it is properly cooked.0 -
That’s for the feedback. I’m glad I’m not the only one who realised THE TRUTH here. Media has been ordered by government/ illuminati to not cover this issue in fear it would trigger panic selling.
BTL will he hit the worst. Get out while you can.
WE have never had Bubonic Plague when antibiotics have been available so who knows?Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.0
