Small monthly saving

Fiancee and I have fairly decent savings which we hope to keep growing for another couple of years and pay a chunk off when we remortgage.
However, I'd like to throw £50 a month or so into something, just as an aside, like a stocks/shares fund - maybe it will do well, maybe not, but after 10 years (may increase the amount over time) I'd hope to have made even small gains. Had considered crypto but its a little too risky for my liking, and it's even harder to keep track of developements.
Any recommendations or a place to start doing a bit of research? Have done some googling but I don't know enough at this stage to weed out the 'bad ideas'.

Do you overpay your mortgage every year to maximum allowed amount? If not, do this first.0

A lot of s&s investments you need an initial lump sum of £500 or so.
You could have a look at ratesetter. Get 5%+ return & is one of the less riskier p2p's0 -

I know on HL you can start a regular saving from £25 a month, likes of a vanguard lifestrategy. Maybe other platforms this can be done as well.
I would personally look at something multi asset over ratesetter long term like this.0 -
"At £50 a month your biggest enemy is costs". Old article, good advice.
