Closed credit card

Hi there,

I've been saving recently and managed to pay off my credit card and I paid it all off back in March, I then awaited my statements to confirm account balance was at £0, which it was. I phoned up to confirm and I closed the account.

I have today received a letter to say I have another payment ( I have made no purchases since then ), Are the credit card company allowed to chase me for this event though the account is closed ?

Thanks in advance for any advice.
Cheers,
James

What is the balance made up from? If the statement read £0 then it shouldn’t be residual interest that’s caused it.

Anyways The short answer to your question is yes.

If it is a valid payment against the card that has just simply come in late ie after you closed the card then you are still liable for it

just give them a call and pay it off using something like a debit card

Not if it was authorised after closure

    Before then fair enough

On a side note. How do you quote someone when using an iPhone. Won’t work for me, very annoying.

Bring up the quote option and push and hold on it and choose open in new tab.

Just like I did here :money:
