Switching to Bulb
Hi,
I am switching to Bulb and applied through Cheap Energy Club.
Two queries:
1) I know I will ''get £25 cashback 3 months after switching''. I cannot find if and how to claim it and if there is anything else I can claim.
2) On the website https://www.higgypop.com/offers/50-off-your-energy-bill/
I found that Bulb offers £50 if you sign up through higgypop. I cannot work out how to compare the effective price of the two deals.
And in case the hyggypop is better, would it be too late to apply through them now? I suppose it would.
Thanks.

Avoid any website like higgypop or even MSE Cheap Energy Club.
You can get the £50 offer from using an existing Bulb customers referral link. There are tons on this forum's own referral board (the only place that referral links are allowed here) . The link to the Bulb referral thread is https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5958725
And given Bulb only have ONE tariff then it is easy to work out that £50 is better then £25.
Plus Bulb pay the £50 into your Bulb energy account so the money is there to help pay for fuel going forward. The Bulb £50 is paid soon after the switch completes.0 -

You just have to wait, nothing to claim.0 -
Assuming you requested the switch within the last 14 days you could cancel it then apply to switch again using a referral. Quite a faff for the sake of £25 though.0

Do they not have a standard tariff?
Currently, with npower, uswitch showing saving £10.00pm with bulb, just concerned we may end up with higher bills based on our consumption
Are bulb new to the market, do they have a good reputation?
Nervous about switching, hence, with npower 20+ yrs, rather not be a static in the "never wished I'd transferred":(

No, they have exactly one tariff for electricity and one for gas. (they do offer an E7 tariff for electricity).
It is a variable tariff without exit fees so they have no need for a standard variable tariff as they only tariff is identical to the terms of other suppliers' standard variable tariffs.
They also have one million customers so have been around for a while. There is a feedback thread on this forum for Bulb. It is mostly filled with good comments but then again as they offer £50 referral fees, you will get good comments!0 -
The Cheap Energy Club will send the £25 to your bank account some 3 to 6 months after your switch to Bulb completes.
You just have to wait, nothing to claim.
If they do. I switched to Bulb 9 months ago and nudged The Cheap Energy Club a few times to chase Bulb up but to no avail. Apparently confirmation of my switch from Bulb has never been forthcoming. So, great if it happens but perhaps dont factor in this particular benefit to switch.0 -

Never had any issue with the CEC paying out .... eventually... with any switch request action through them. (and assuming I remained with the supplier/tariff long eneogh to be paid)
MSE want their £50 for their work (of which they will then pass £25 to you). If you have the evidence to prove the switch occurred, and remains in place, then MSE will fight to get their money if necessary. (not that it usually is)
Stick with the Big 6 suppliers, and you won't go far wrong.0 -
