Ebay item lost at a collect store.

I purchased an item from Ebay and I selected for the item to be be delivered to my local store which was a Collect+ outlet store. I received a confirmation email that my order was ready for collection at my local store. I went to the store today and the order was not there.
Anyone else had a similar problem? and who is responsible if the order is lost?

How much of a search was made for it?

I'd be inclined to telephone and ask to speak to the manager. So a more through search can be done.

Do you have the tracking info, if so what does it say?

Who is responsible if the order is lost....the seller.

They searched for about 10 mins tried a few times searching over and over.
I contacted ebay about the problem who then contacted Collect + and they found the order (I hope), so it's another trip to the store tomorrow.

Yes I had the same problem.
In my case eBay rang the store then refunded me.
This shop was new to eBay and I was concerned that the parcels were on the floor behind the till counter, with no staff in attendance on the counter and that parcels could be reached by members of the public. One member of staff told me " lots of ebay parcels go missing".
I passed this info to eBay who noted it but I shan't be collecting from this store again.
