money tranfer revolut card account to bank account - account locked

As highlighted above, this will almost certainly be due to AML.
a) How much money have you deposited in Revolut, over what period of time?
b) How much money is now left on your Revolut account, that you wish to transfer out?
c) Do you regularly move money in to and out of your Revolut account, other than by spending on the card?
If the answer to (b) is significant, I can fully understand why Revolut are doing what they are doing. You have nothing to worry about assuming all is above board - just provide them with what they are asking for.0 -
@CardinalWol
a) How much money have you deposited in Revolut, over what period of time? - open account in mid of April on friend suggestion as need to for holiday over Easter break. deposited around £1500 in over 5-6 days and spend using card around 1100., mostly on travel (paid to taxi, travel agent, train and bus tickets) and restaurant and few bugs on supermarket for fruits and bread. around 200 transfer to friend revolut account. can't see the statement for exact amount details as account is locked but round figure that it.
b) How much money is now left on your Revolut account, that you wish to transfer out? - its around £200 left on card,
c) Do you regularly move money in to and out of your Revolut account, other than by spending on the card? NO - all details see answer against question 1.
revolut questions are endless and asking same question again and again. even after proving the details. do you think its a good to take them to court for recovery of balance.0 -

revolut didn't said me or informed me that my money is confiscated.
Of course they haven't, because the law doesn't allow them to say anything to you that might permit you to tip off anyone else who might also be involved in money laundering.0 -
I had a right issue getting a Revolut card. Even though i have lived at the same address for almost 20 years and had the same bank account for longer than that, they wanted photo ID.
Told them i dont have any. Paper driving licence and no passport.
No problem they said just send a copy of your driving licence with the photo.
After repeatedly telling them I do not have photo ID they said send a copy of your citizenship card with the photo and named a few other ID cards that other countries use. Told them the UK does not have them.
Eventually they said just transfer £20 onto the card by DD from the bank. It wouldnt let me £20 was over my limit..
What a PITA, as i was about to give up they finally allowed me to transfer £20 and the cards worked fine since.
Not tried pulling money back from it though, I load money on it when i want to buy something in euro's. Good rates.
Shame Kalixa stopped, they were far easier to deal with.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

This is due to Know Your Customer (KYC) rules. As they don't have a physical presence, they need to implement other mechanisms to allow customers to prove who they are. The first "virtual" bank to minimise KYC checking was ING Direct, some years ago - all you had to do to open an account with them was to credit funds from another UK bank account in the same name (they used the argument that the source bank would have done the KYC checks). The regulators have tightened things up since then, so I'm surprised you managed to open a Revolut account in the manner you did - although at the time their banking licence was limited in scope.
It might be a faff for you at the time, but far better than someone else opening an account in your name, which they then use to generate further identity theft, greater fraud against yourself and others, and for you to end up in court potentially explaining that those debts aren't yours. Let alone the risk associated with money laundering, plus granting access to sensitive persons.0 -
Why not just use your revolut card in the U.K.?0

Hi All,
they have unlocked my account now after sending same information many times to them. i just transfer the money from revolut to my bank account and waiting for money to arrive in my bank account.
i guess it was their chat representative who is different today and help me to unlock the account. just for your reference i have not provided any new details to them but used the GDPR as suggested by DoaM.
Thanks all for your information and help.0
