Rent with Poor Credit History?

Hi All,
Just a quick question on whether letting agents do a full credit history search when you rent a property. I have poor credit history due to several late payments on CC's but OH's history is very good and we can afford rent payments comfortably. Any thoughts/advice appreciated.
Thanks

Hi. Yes they will do a check and you normally have to pay for the privilege. I suspect that they would ask for a guarantor in your circumstances as that does seem to be their answer whenever there is any doubt, but should still be fine to rent. You could offer to pay the first 6 months in advance, if you have it, as some agents will be happy with this as an alternative.0
