The graph is broken down into quarters so March-June but the 26 days will represent March-April (there or thereabouts, when the bill was generated).0

39 units a day, then 242 ?
Was the first 3 months estimated and this is now catching up ?0 -
We moved into our new house at the end of last year.
This means you moved in just before the most expensive point in the year and with no credit built up from the summer months when useage is a fraction of the winter use.I use all 3 timers and our heating is on 0430-0600, 0700-0830 and 1600-1830.
Is anyone out of bed between 4.30 and 6.00?Our thermostat sits at around 28.
That is extremely high. People tend to use 18-22 as the typical range. We have received a quarterly bill now from Dec-March I believe.. The bill is for £1848!!!!
That is not too bad for the months in question. You will probably be around half that or less for the rest of the year. So, averaging out, about £230pm.
Are you on Economy 7 or a single tariff?
How much useage do you have at various times a day?
It would be worth starting a spreadsheet and start reading the meters at different points in the day. Then look for jumps between those hours and then work out what you have been using in that time.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Having your thermostat on 28 is going to up your usage drastically.0

What are the timings of your morning routine? You can cut down on the 4.30-6.00am, if your partner leaves the house at 6.00 am the heating can go off at least 30 minutes before then.
What about the 7.00 am - 8.30 am, I presume that is you getting up.
I don't have my heating on in the morning at all and it's not that cold, by the time I'm up, showered and dressed I've warmed up.
Oh and 28 degrees - no wonder your bills are so high, mine is set at no more than 20. Put a jumper on if you're chilly.Thrifty Till 50 Then Spend Till the End
You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time but you can never please all of the people all of the time0 -
28c!!!!!!!!!!
Time to get a jumper.0 -
28c as others said is extremely warm, I have to have my heating on gas more due to a disabled person but even I dare not have it above 22c. Your boiler will be working all time. Also when I worked I never had heating on in morning and I am talking around 3.30am, it was straight dressed, wash, breakfast off to work. I no longer work but my wife does and she never has heating on either during morning and she moans like hell at night that below 21c is cold.0

From what you’ve said it sounds as if you have an economy 7 meter if you have day and night on your bill. Unless you have storage heaters you’re paying for virtually all of your electricity at the highest rate. Are you positive they’re not storage heaters? You can tell by how quickly they cool down. That’s an awful lot you’re paying. I’m not as freaked out as some by your high thermostat setting as having lived with elec heating I know it’s not quite the same but try turning it down a little. Is there any underfloor heating?
Could you just use a fan heater in the mornings to heat just the rooms you’re in rather than it all?
Don’t suppose you could contact the people who lived there before to find out what they were paying?0 -
Did you take reading when you moved in? Are they the same as your supplier is using?0
