if an ebay item is damaged in transit?

justaquestion

Hi folks,
Say I was to buy an instrument on ebay like a guitar, easily damaged in transit at the best of time, would be coming through parcel force.
In this case it would more than likely simply to be damaged in transit to me if I was unlucky, rather than the seller posting it like that, so who would be responsible?
Would I have to take it up with Parcelforce rather than the seller?
I am thinking of buying one on ebay but as I have got guitars from Amazon (shoddy packing) damaged in the past, who would be responsible in the ebay case?
Thanks

It's very simple on ebay assuming you use PayPal. If item arrives damaged just open a case stating the damage, perhaps a photo, although this isn't actually necessary and seller will need to,provide a pre paid return label. Once returned you get a full refund.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
