Having a dumb moment here!!

Moved into a new build (Housing Association) 1st floor flat, 6 months ago.

It has access to 2 "supplemental" solar panels on the roof. Electric and Gas provided by British Gas

I can't find anything provided by my Housing association about it (other than they were installed and a sales brochure by the company who installed them).

And... I'm still on the default temp tariffs:
(I know! i know! but when you are on a "pay in cash every 3 months", and only paid £18 in total for gas and electricity since i moved that's during winter!! it can easily slip the mind.)

I can see the Electric smart meter say's I'm currently "in credit by £21" but can't find info on how it's calculated.

couple of questions:
1.a) should I have some documentation regarding a "feed in tariff" or is it an automatic thing?
1.b) should I be applicable for the tariffs?

2) If I change suppliers, does the meter "going dumb" effect things in regards to credit for excess energy produced?

Are these "Solar Panels" for electricity or heating the water?
