Paypal is simple. Probably not the cheapest but for say under a grand, worth the lack of hassle.
Or if this will be common then something like transferwise or xe, or for small amounts she can buy you an amazon voucher.

I have come on to this forum as I want to send my Brother in the US about $1000 or £1000
My Granddaughter has been at University in the US for a year and I have paid her Dorm Fees and sent this by Swift Transfer through my bank It cost £25 fee from my UK bank and a charge of $25 was taken from what seems to be a middle bank in the US.
I didn't know about the $25 and when the money arrived at the University it was short by the $25 my Granddaughter paid the $25 when she got there.
When I sent the money for her 2nd Semester I added the $25 and it was received with no problems.
I am wondering if there is a cheaper way of sending the money ? I just want it to be as trouble free as possible for my Brother. It was very easy to send the money via my bank. I did it on my online banking.
A little bit of advise would be appreciated. Many thanks Sue

According to the calculator on Transferwise's website, a transfer of GBP to USD1,000 today would cost £3.16.

Also look at the Transferwise Borderless Account.

Chino Thanks for that I will have a look at both and how I do the actual transaction. I do appreciate it as it cost me approx £44 to send the Swift Transfer.
