Good morning everyone :hello:
A beautiful bright morning here but the blinds are drawn as it is too bright for poor Steve. His cataract op went really well yesterday and he has taken off his pirate's patch so he looks back to normal now. He will have to go and have the other eye done in about a year so that was good news too.
My friend managed to come out and spend some time with me as I was anxious and it was so lovely to see her. She seems a lot better than she was so that was good too.
My grandson has just left after coming over to open his birthday presents and card early. He is going to be on holiday when it is his actual birthday so he was over the moon to get his presents. We bought him a load of 'spy' stuff and some little plastic eggs that you smash open and collect the dinosaurs inside. They proved to be very popular indeed.
Right I am off to have some toast and a cup of tea. Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx0 -
Morning all
Thanks for the thread SO, hugs to you and anyone else in need.
My cottage pie and sponge and custard went down well yesterday, liver and bacon next week.
We were up and out at sparrowfart o'clock this morning as CHS had a fasting blood test, we arrived early, he was seen and stabbed immediately and we were half way home by the time of his appointment.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs HesterChin up, Titus out.0 -
Morning all from mehefinland
Well its been a bit of a roller coaster week and finally some normality is settling in. Thanks for all the good wishes about the girls. Bruisemare it seems has a deep seated abscess which has finally burst out of the top of the hoof on the coronet area ( its the bit where the hoof joins the leg in simple terms) I have been hot poulticing her for over a week now and finally have some result - it stinks to high heaven. She is till in a lot of discomfort though and is on a high dosage of pain relief - one very spaced out mare atm. Have to poodle across to the vet today to get more to see us through the bank holiday weekend - oh joy, another bill!
She did surprise us though in that when I have been mucking out I have left the stable door open knowing that she wouldn't go out ...WRONG. she decided yesterday to take herself for a little walk into the paddock. Good news in many ways as it will help shift the gunk, and she is obviously feeling better :j
Might be able to start catching up on some of the chores at home now - the lawns are starting to look like hayfields.
Hugs and spoons to those in need.

Good morning everyone, here the sun is shining and at present it is bright and fresh although that weatherman says it will cloud up later.
I've had a difficult few weeks, I think everyone has a dark teatime of the soul from time to time and unfortunately it coincided with other things that have taken up my attention. We are on the move. Our landlord wants to sell this house - the only thing going for it has been the cheap rent so I'm glad to be moving. I've got a rather good house for us, in a far nicer area but the rent is a fair bit higher. It has a garden and outbuildinfs, I'm fond of a nice outbuilding.Im indoors is upset about the rent but as he has not liked any of the houses for sale in the area he prefers, perhaps the cost will steer him towards a bit of compromise. His middle name is Stubborn. So two weeks from today, we'll be in chaos though I have ensured a few days overlap. There will probably be a total absence from me around then, as we'll need to get wireless etc. sorted out.
This has all been quite gime-consuming at a time when my emotional and physical reserves were lower than usual. Normally I'm quite resilient and I've had to be, with the job I did and various life events but this time I did consider running away and enlisting as a pirate. Sadly the sort of pirate I wanted to be isn't all that popular these days, swashbuckling around the world would have had much to recommend it. Then I remembered about not much liking boats, being ancient and arthritic and not necessarily being physically brave and decided to just get on with things.
SO I am still thinking of you and of all those who have been dealing with difficult and sad things.
Speky, have a great time.
Today I'm dealing with a lot of washing, no really big loads but I am on load 3 of 5, each oh which requires different treatment.
I am doing a bit of sorting each day, in preparation for the move or at least that is my intention.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Mehefin that does sound nasty, glad she is on the mend.
Gers, I couldn't believe what I was reading, how incredibly insensitive.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Morning all
I slept heavily last night but was dreaming that I was trying to put all my worldly goods into bags again, consequently I'm worn out before I start anything !
Hey ho I shall just plod along today as Mr Fix it has decamped to the 'van with his friend to fit the mover. I have filled a large cooler bag with food and another bag with cakes, crisps and drinks or the means to make a hot beverage, if it is needed. Looks like they were going to attack the North face of the Eiger with all the stuff they were taking ( and the van is only 5mins down the road :rotfl: )
Dad is also away on a day trip to Weston-super-Mare, so I have the day to myself :j.
I sorted out some holiday clothes yesterday and they are washed and dried, just need ironing now
.
Today I shall do what I please, maybe nothing, but I can't see that happening as one of the kitchen drawers is messy..... I couldn't find the scissors for ages and the drawer isn't that big  So that might be on the cards, similarly the under the sink cupboard. If the rain holds off I may go in the garden and move some wood about
. There is a pile of it ready for the tip hidden at the top of the garden, so I might move it nearer the side gate. What's the motto for scouts "be prepared " ( for the tip ) 'cos if Mr Fix It sees it regularly he might decide to get rid of it sooner, without me nagging :rotfl:.
SilverOldie please wish your DH a happy birthday. I hope you have your lunch out and have some respite time.
I hope everyone has a good Wednesday.
Take care all

Right I'm back after reading through this thread, thought the other one was quiet !
Mr Fix It is away today fixing the new mover to the van, so I have cleaned/sorted 2 kitchen drawers and the under the sink cupboard. Then I cleared the wood pile from the top of the garden and put it nearer to the side gate, ready for another tip trip.
AOD sorry to hear about your problems, no wonder you were feeling low, but now I hope the future brings a bit of contentment. Hugs.
Gers sorry to hear about DM and her plate. Would you be able to put the wheels in motion while she's still in the hospital ?
Speky I'm glad your Gran is feeling better. Enjoy your hols ( in case I forget to say it next week
)
Mehefin at last a diagnosis :j. Now you can administer the right treatment ( and keep MrsM happy by cutting the field.. er lawn :rotfl:. )
Dumpling I'm glad the eye op went well.
taff Fantastic it's your last day today :T
Hugs to anyone feeling under par today, for whatever reason.
Take care all
