O/S Daily Wednesday 1st May 2019

This is is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

    Morning all

Little bit gloomy here this morning but meant to be nice later on, off to work for me and I have woken with a really bad headache so hopefully that will wear off during the day, noisy chap in at work today so I could do without that.

Rubbish and recycling to go out this morning, and the dw to be emptied tonight when I get in.

Might do the truffle pasta for dinner tonight with a big salad and doughballs so a nice easy meal.

Hope everyone has a good day xxx

Morning all. Last radio and road trip...
Yesterday I fetched some big bricks [courtesy of FB] to make a small edged bed for the rhubarb and fatsia in the shaded bit, cut up the three breanches from the tree and te bits of wood I'd collected that ave been drying. All that effort [ with a sabre saw] for two measly little piles of wood [wet ad dry]. I now appreciate how much work goes into making bigger logs....
Marked out where next bed is going, and have explained now to OH about final garden look, he is on board [ thought he was totally uninterested in garden, I was wrong...] No heavy work for me today though.
Next week though, well, let's say I'm polishing my tools off ready for action...

SO, it's hard to celebrate stuff when you've only just lost your mam, just do whatever you like, but you do have to eat! red ruby, this one pipped yours by a minute so...hope your headache goes. Nelski, how was it? Gers, has the dentist been? Are you looking after yourself? Jackie, same as gintot, can meet in Bath if you fancy it...I will be fancy free next week. AOD, still virtual hugs for you. mehefin, hope your doing ok and your pretty ponies....same to you lainey. csarina, did all the meds get orted, hope you're doing OK. snoozer, enjoy the new tele! nanny, swift kick up the rear then for him :) Holly, thank you :) now you take it easy. For some reason the refrain ' I must I must increase my bust ' is going round in my head, I have no idea where it came from, but I'm substituting confidence for you. Chin up, titus out, as someone else's sig says :)

Morning folks and thanks RR for starting us off. Gloomy here too with no sun or rain forecast. So gloomy all day!

Nice lunch out with my buddy yesterday. I enjoyed the Broccoli Cheese Bake once again, I could get addicted to that! Today a pottering and catching up on jobs day if I cba! Then I think 2 DGDs are here for late tea and sleepover after their dancing lessons. This depends on whether DD's BF gets his car back from the garage to come and take them to school in the morning. All a bit up in the air for now!

Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) as always for all who need them. Thoughts are with you all. Hope JACKIE has a good mystery day out. Take care all xx

Morning all and may your May be happy :)

Another late night, followed by a catch up call with my gran who I am pleased to say is feeling better. A quick gym session then home to make my lunches for the week and bed.

Today may well be much of the same actually although I do want to try and leave a bit earlier if possible. Of course even if I leave earlier, I've still stayed late again. I doubt I'll ever see a 5 o clock finish become the usual any time soon.

I go on holiday on Tuesday of next week, away to South Spain with my mum and step dad for a week. So I need to make sure I've got all my bits and bobs in advance soon, in case I have to order something online. That's my task for tonight should I chose to accept it.

Given I'm away for 7 days, I'm still going to give myself the hefty task of aiming for 14 NSD's this month and today should be number 1.

    Morning :)

Very quiet on here this morning everyone must all be busy being busy :D

Yesterday was an OK day with ma ...bout as good as it gets these days. Hour and a half for the shop so I got a fair bit of stuff done over a vile Morrisons coffee.

Today is back to the grindstone with workbook writing. My target had been to finish it today but with 3 modules left that isn't going to happen. I also have to do some stuff from my Bridgend sales call and some email clearing.

Food will be some pork wraps with salad and coleslaw tonight

Hope everyone has a good day

    Morning all.

I had a very unusual lie-in. Despite waking at the normal time I kept on dropping off again.

The dentist who visited DM yesterday said that her dental plate couldn't be repaired. A new one would take weeks to make and DM won't be there that long. It's very disappointing and upset us both greatly.

I'm away to think about this more.

    Happy Wednesday folks.

SO, I hope you have managed to get the paperwork to start sorting things out.

I hope all the poorlies are as well as can be expected.

Mehefin, I also hope poor Bruisemare is getting better as well.

I finished the quilt top and my sewing room is tidy again, I need to make the quilt sandwich and sew that, I'm only going to do a very simple design of straight lines so it shouldn't take too long.

We also want to plant the border today, Steve has almost finished digging it. We might also try to see Chris and Crystal before they go on holiday to Greece tomorrow.
