The local authority would be likely to invoke the "deliberate deprivation of capital/assets" rules.

Is there any way to get around this?
To get round it, just dont do it in one go.
Transfer it at say £300 a week, so it just looks like its being spent normally (but obviously it'll take a couple of years)0 -
This is crazy advice isn't it? Over the years, the courts must have seen every type of case involving trusted relatives who didn't turn out quite as trustable after all
And what are their savings for, if not to provide security in old age? If that means paying the council to look after them, so be it.0
