Remember that any settlement will be full and final settlement. If there is any worsening of the injury following payout, it will be hard luck. In the meantime your friend will need to take all steps possible to reduce and eliminate the symptoms.

Many insurers are now moving away from cash payments for whiplash and instead paying for private healthcare treatment.
