Toyota Warranty Giving Me The Run Around

Hey guys, got a 2 year old Rav 4 and the drivers side door card has really worn away, where I rest my arm.

Now being a truck driver, and having driven trucks with over a million miles on the clock with no signs of wear, my 20k miles Rav, in my opinion, shouldn't be doing this.

When I got it serviced at Toyota back in September I mentioned it to them.

A month later I chased, to be told yup photos have been taken and sent to our warranty department.

Since then, I've rang them up maybe once a month, or couple of weeks, spoken to different people and every single one just tells me, hmmm I'll look into this and call you back - but they never do!

I don't have the time to sit here chasing them all day long and I kind of want to send some sort of letter that "demands" a response or legal action etc etc....but if I push them surely they will just reject the claim anyway and i'll be stuffed either way.

Any suggestions please?

Some truck drivers have very hairy arms to the point it is almost like wire wool, which would put unusual abrasion on the door card.

    Does this apply to you?

escalate with Toyota GB customer services?. You may have a fight on your hands in that trim is usually limited warranty, precisely because of the endless variety of ways it can be used/treated by different drivers.
Unless lots of other people are complaining online about the same problem, you may struggle.

Rather than selectively quoting, I think you know what a "drivers side door card" is.

Really, because I also have no idea what it is. It's certainly not a term I have ever used with any of my own vehicles.

Fellow truck driver here. I rest my arm on my door same as you. Owned my Mondeo for just over 100,000 miles and apart from that area being a bit more shiny than the rest its not damaged.

It is a widely used term amongst vehicle mechanics, bodyshops, breakers yard. Its the trim that covers the inside of the door from top to bottom, held in place by plastic clips and screws. Go to a breakers yard and ask for a drivers door card and you'll be presented with the bit you see below the window to the bottom of the door minus the handle to pull it shut, the lever to open it and any mirror/electric window switches.

Basically the only reason you've not used it with any of your own vehicles is because you didn't know the correct name for the part.
