Options
All,

I have just received a gift of £1000.

I want to save/invest it for maximum growth with minimum risk.

What would you recommend please.

    Don't we all ;)

What might you want to use it for?
    How old are you?
What is your attitude to risk (investments)?

  • And another important question: What is your timeframe for this investment. Without knowing this it will be really hard to recommend suitable solution ;)

You've been on here 3 years... I'd recommend you do some research.

You are seeking the investment holy grail, do let everyone know when you've found it.

    OK OK :)

    I am 47 years young
I have varied attitudes to risk depending on what I am risking.
But for this £1000 low/no risk.
There is no goal or set amount I want to achieve from this £1000, just progressive growth.
also no time frame really, as the money is a gift, I have nothing to specifically need to purchase with it.
Savings for a rainy day I guess.
Sorry if that's a bit vague.

If this is rainy day money you are probably best sticking to cash products such as 5% for the first year on a Nationwide FlexDirect current account provided you meet their criteria.

Nationwide FlexDirect - 5% fixed for the first year on up to £2500 (review again in a year)
There is a £1000/month deposit requirement but that can go in and out on the same day.
