I'm not sure that's something I ought be messing around with then0 -

Ths is standard bb troubleshooting and something that TT will ask you to do anyway...nothing to be concerned about (unless you have an old-style master socket without the split faceplate.......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple

I had a go, the line is a tiny bit noisy but no different plugged in or to this test socket. If that's the problem I've noidea. THe router isn't connected at that point anyway, it uses a separate socket0

^^ Well the definitive test is to plug the router into this socket and see if you still get internet problems .
If you do , great, the problem is with the external lines and is up to TalkTalk to initiate a fix.
If it works fine in this socket however, then the problem lise somewehre in your house's wiring. This is your own responsibility.
I appreciate that it might not be convenient to test at this socket - but it is a sure fire way to determine where the issue is0 -
Reads as internal problem as probable home wiring >

Probable £135 to £175 callout charge from OpenReach if its a problem beyond the master socket.0 -
As above. If you unscrew the faceplate and plug directly into the test socket behind it and your problems go away you've found out its your home phone extension wiring for free. If Openreach come and do exactly the same test and get the same result you'll get a £150 bill. This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
