Good Morning
I brought a sofa and chair form Harveys last August when it came it had several issues with it, I contacted Harveys and was ignored took a long time from writing emails and calling them up but they agreed to send someone out, he came out said no faulty you just have to dress the chair correctly every day and the issue will go away,, (I thought what a load of rubbish) I sent several emails saying I wasn't happy with the response and they were faulty, ignored even told they were closing my case I said I wanted another inspection which they finally agreed to and the guy came out and we got his report earlier this week, FAULTY non repairable...so Harveys said i can keep the items and they will give me some money back or refund me due to the item now discontinued, But they want the good back before refunding....
Question is can I ask for compensation as I'm now going to be left without a sofa till I get money back and then be able to order a new one which most furniture stores have an 8 week lead time.
Kind Regards

You can ask for the managers first born son, whether you get it or not is a completely different matter.
Personally knowing you are never going to shop there again I can't see any reason they would give compensation but is always worth asking.0 -
What losses do you have? You have been offered two possible resolutions, pick one and get on with your life.0

There's no harm in asking, but there's no guarantee they'll do this. It's pretty usual for a company to insist on getting the goods back before issuing a refund.
If you buy your next suite from a company that has what you're looking for in stock rather than having it made to order, that way you a) know exactly what you will be getting and b) it won't take 8-12 weeks for it to be delivered.Well informed on the subjects of sofas and wood furniture, and well opinionated on everything else :rotfl:0
