Are Servicing Plans worth it? - Peugeot Rifter

Hi all,

I have a new Peugeot Rifter on the way. I haven't decided if I should go for a servicing plan or not.

Can anyone advise if they're good value, or a bit of a con?

I've been quoted £1029.88 for the next 5 services.

Despite the vehicle being on finance, I intend to keep it for a very long time, so purchasing it outright.

Does anyone have any recommendations if there are alternatives or anything else to consider? Thanks very much!

I'm no expert though I have used local dealership service plans before for Clio's
This year I agreed to another two year service+mot plan don;t have cost in front off me -less than 400 pounds I think.
My past experience is services as part of plan are very basic -oil/filter change -check water and wash amongst some visual checks -be prepared to take a payment card or cash as I have always had additional costs though it can vary from dealerships.
Though I enjoy getting service stamp and recorded and dash clock reset for service intervals.
I'm sure others mse'r can advise on self services etc, I don;t have the strength anymore.

I would recommend some negotiation, I've just paid £500 for 5 years servicing on a new car.
Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.

Is this through the manufacturer or dealer? I've always liked having a dealer service history and found service plans a good way to budget, for me anyway.
One issue I had was that my office moved, so the dealer was then miles away, then they lost the franchise and the service plan was taken over by another dealer even further away.
