    I think we viewed 4.

We made an offer for one, which got turned down.
Another house on the close came up for sale.. we saw it, loved it and made an offer, which was accepted.
Homeowner then decided not to sell.

3 months later, the homeowner contacted us and asked if we'd like to buy.. so we did. Now been here 5 years.

Thank you all for your replies!! We booked a second viewing for this weekend and going to also do some new viewings in the other town we wanted to check out. We don't live in either area (living in London, moving out to the commuter belt) so I suppose it takes more checking things out before we decide to commit!

I was a first time buyer. I did a lot of research online to get an idea of the local housing market, and thus weeded out a lot of potential wasted viewings.

I took a week off work with my short list of viewings with a variety of estate agents.

After viewing 8, I decided to go for a second viewing for one of them, the second one I visited, and put in an offer for it on the Saturday, which was accepted on the Monday

9 months later I completed

    This is not investment advice.
Your money may go "down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... I got all tricked up and came up to this thing, lookin' so fire hot, a twenty out of ten..."

First time - none. I bought my first flat from my sister and her husband.

Second time- one. My second move was 29 years later when I bought a house with my girlfriend and we bought the first house we saw.

In the early morning of 01 Jan 2018 we had a long walk with the kids in an area of our town we had never been before looking at the nice houses and dreaming of having one of those for ourselves. We hit a dead end street and we saw a sign FOR SALE in front of a house. On 28 Apr we moved in. This was our ideal FTB home and we hadn't even purposely searched for it, it found us. :)
