Tracing LAS unit trusts (the company no longer exists)

Options
My grandfather died sometime back and in going through his things we found unit trust certificates from a company called LAS, only problem is that they are no more. We have contacted both RBS and BoS as well as the auditors neither of whom have been willing to help. A check on unclaimed assets has also yielded nothing.

So the question is how do we find out what happened to the LAS unit trusts, they must have been transferred to another company and who is that company? These were declared as an asset by my father (he found the original share certificates) who was appointed as his executor however he also passed away and so we are now trying to pick up the pieces

Ignis LP Limited was wound up in 2013 and had been previously LAS

; Las Unit Trust Managers Limited (until 01/01/1994).

Just because the trust was wound up doesn't mean that investor's money has been lost, this ought to be separate.

LAS (Life Association of Scotland) is now part of Phoenix Life (via Alba Life).
