Commercial insurance - fleet or non-fleet policy that can scale easily with more vehicles

Options
Hi all,

I'm looking for an insurer/broker to insure a new 'flex-e-rent' Transit-style van, for my new limited company. Essentially, I'm looking for a fleet-type 'any-driver' policy that can give me the flexibility scale-up relatively quickly, as I'm hoping to get my second van within 3 months and a 3rd/4th within 6 months... Can anyone advise me as-to the best way to do this and find a good deal.

Thanks in advance 😘

You need to speak to a broker.

Most fleets will only cover 3+ vehicles, some will do 2 but as its a new start may not be so accommodating- so unless you can get 2-3 at once you will need to take it on the chin and insure them separately-you can do this any driver but will be cheaper to name drivers.

Hopefully this time next year you'll have some NCD and 3 or more vehicles and which will be more appealing to a fleet insurer.

Thanks Brodiebobs. Would naming a driver mean that driver's specific driving history would need to be disclosed? If that driver were to be involved with an incident at work, could that then impact their personal vehicle insurance?

Are there any brokers who you would recommend (or simply know of) that might be able to assist in this area?

    Thanks again :)

naming drivers you would need to disclose their driving history, but for a fleet the insurer would give any driver cover but the onus would be on you to check drivers licences and declare any claims, so either way you would have to.

Recommendations are the way to go, if you know anyone else in business see who they use, failing that internet search will help. :)

Thanks very much. I'll look into this.
