MSE Cheap Energy Club

Trying to update the details for my Mum's MSE Cheap Energy Club account.
She is currently with OutFoxTheMarket - and is happy.
However, when we do a comparison... the numbers are off, because I'm unable to edit her account to her actual tariff.
She is on the Zapp! tariff (12.91p/unit and 21p standing charge - inc VAT) - but this is not selectable via the "Edit Details" option.
Fortunately, I have a spreadsheet which I run in parallel with the Cheap Energy Club - but its not ideal...
I accept that the Zapp tariff is no longer available... but I'm sure my Mum isn't the only one still on it... (yes, I've checked the most recent bill...) and its frustrating to be told she can save money.... when, with a little digging, I find she can't...
Is it possible to add an option where I can enter the actual unit rates (provided above) into my Mum's account.... ?
Suggestions much appreciated...
Thanks, Malcolm

Must be the only one, according to the MSE posts here
Btw, the OFTM Zapp tariff was withdrawn from all customers ages ago
Your mum isn't on it (nor is anyone else) - as demonstrated by the fact that she is being charged a different tariff rate now
You cannot change the tariff details (p/kWh, daily standing charge, etc) within any comparison site, but you can change the tariff. Choose the one that now applies.0 -
Thanks for the speedy reply.... but... from the current statement (issued towards the end of last week).
About Your Tariff
Here you can find out about your Zapp! Tariff, this will help if you're looking to compare suppliers online.
Zapp! Tariff Electricity
Unit rate 12.91p
Standing Charge 21.0000p
Tariff end date No end date
Exit fee No exit fee
Payment method Direct Debit
* all rates shown are inclusive of VAT
The above information has been used further on in the statement to calculate the cost.... and the numbers add up...
Currently this is the "best" tariff for her (based on cost at least... and OFTM haven't been "that" bad with regards to communication).
So, should I just stay quiet? Or contact them for clarification?

Well that's what you get for going with a cheap supplier.
It's not all about cost.
Try one of the Big 6 suppliers. Not the cheapest perhaps, but you won't go too far wrong with them0 -

Plus of course they have no complaints at all on the forum .0 -

I wouldn't say there are no complaints at all on the forum about them. Far from it. They have millions of customers and so will have more complaints in pure numerical terms than some of these smaller suppliers even have customers.
They are operated by humans and we all make mistakes.
It's how those mistakes are then rectified once identified that is important0 -
Hi, i have had exactly the same issue trying to do a comparison, as my account still says Zapp but when i spoke to them on chat i was actually on blast.
I have tried to contact them again, as i no loner believe i am on blast any more...0 -

OK, glad it's not just us.... did you do a calculation from the last page of the statement?
Ours works out correctly with the Zapp tariff details....0 -
I worked out the cost myself on Excel i the end, it turns out im £70 a year better off on their variable 4 tarriffMalcolmPreen wrote: »OK, glad it's not just us.... did you do a calculation from the last page of the statement?

Using the comparison system, I'm being told that Ovo energy is cheapest for me. Saving me £69 a year.
On the other hand, Octo energy is only saving me £29 a year.
I'd be ok with that, but looking at tariff details:
Ovo electricity usage: 15.204/kWh
Ovo standing charge: 20.549 p/day
Octo electricity usage: 14.89/kWh
Octo standing charge: 20.15p/day
Ovo gas usage: 3.381p/kWh
Ovo standing charge: 20.549 p/day
Octopus gas usage: 3.26p/kWh
Octopus standing charge: 16.80 p/day
Now I don't understand why it's saying Ovo is cheaper?0 -
Is it perhaps including cashback in the savings?0
