Website Domain Proving Ownship/Transfering

Website Domain Proving Ownship/Transfering.

I purchased a website from a person on here,I paid by Paypal,
When you buy a website what precautions should one take if one wants to transfer the domain etc. what problems could I encounter.

Should I be send registration documents etc.?

Not that I am unhappy with it.

  • When I've done it, it all seems to be automatic, I think as long as your the registered owner you can do what you like, I've never had any documents to say I own my sites, I'm on the Whois, as for anything complicated the hosting people appear to do it.

You get certificates (from Nominet) if you're got a UK domain. Other domains, such as .com which are registered on ICANN you don't get anything.

When was it done? It takes Nominet a while to respond.
The certificate is just for show really, it is downloaded from the Nominet website

What may have happened is he has registered in his name & not yours, do check first
