Hi Pete G
As said above anything can fail, I have so far been lucky. I have for years used Seagate HDD's not the dearest, not the cheapest, You get what you pay for, buy cheap get cheap."Imagination is more Important than knowledge"0 -
dont think its true in hdd,s
the biggest failures of hdd,s were the IBM deathstars. i know, it happened to me!
they were not exactly cheap. it was so bad that IBM left the hdd market completely and sold it off to fujitsu.
and western digital is not the cheapest either.Get some gorm.0 -
Sorry Millionaire I think your trying to advise the wrong person..
I run a data recovery unit as part of my PC company so I think I understand the logic behind HDD failure and backing up data.
I was merely pointing out that some people dont consider the possibility of their HDD failing. Normally because they only know the basics of computers and never consider what could happen. Therefore its better to give advice as apposed to saying, Its your own fault..0 -
After all the arguing the guy who asked the question never bothered to come back and say anything !
I give up answering threads on here sometimes .0 -
worth thinking about getting a firewire USB drive (if you have a FW port!) It frees up a precious USB port (i never seem to have enough) and you get faster transfer. Might cost a few extra £ but if you need it to be quick then. Just a thought.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature.
