""basically my car was parked at an angle,"" ???????????

Replacement door is the easiest way to fix that.

    Even the correct colour.

He made a right mess of your front wheel, too...

Is that where you were parked when the van hit you?

I bet that's a clever ploy by the van driver to pass the blame to the car driver ""who turned out in front and he did not have time to stop""

Be aware that what he tells you, and what he tells his employer or insurance company, may be two completely different things.

In the worst case, he tells his insurer that you caused the accident by driving behind him as he was reversing into the space. Your insurer will have no idea what happened, because you haven't told them, so won't have any way to counter that claim.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.

I wish I had a pound for every post like this which ends in tears.

For future reference, I would suggest:
Take photos before moving your car
    Get an independent witness
    Buy a dash cam
Let your insurance deal with the claim
