Out of interest were these cases where the claimant was "still in the system"? Unless it is a blatantly obvious case my sense has been that MPs will let it run until a final decision has been made before intervention.
All sorts of claims at different stages of the processes. I happened to be seated close to where one of the section managers (This person would have had ~100 staff including line managers and their manager) sat. I managed to build up a reputation for being an accurate and conscientious worker so difficult cases were often brought to me or someone else in the same team.
The one thing that remained the same was that when it was an MP enquiry, everything was scrutinized that much more, because that manager had to sign off on the reply to the MP.
Obviously, the process that was in place where I worked, might not be replicated across every site but I would like to think it is somewhat similar.0
